National Rural Development Programme (PNDR)

National Rural Development Programme 2014 - 2020 (PNDR) is the program which grant funds from the European Union and the Romanian Government for the developement of economic and social rural areas in Romania.

Investors have new financial opportunities for investment projects in agriculture and rural development. Farmers, private companies and local authorities have provided nearly 8 billion euros European funds for investments to European standards.

The main priorities for rural development for the programming period 2014-2020

  • - Modernize and increase the viability of farms by strengthening their openness to market and agricultural products processing
  • - Encouraging rejuvenation generations of farmers by helping young people take
  • - Development of basic rural infrastructure as a precondition for attracting investments in rural areas and creating new jobs
  • - Encouraging diversification of the rural economy by promoting the creation and development of SMEs in non-agricultural sectors in rural areas
  • - Promoting the fruit growing sector as a sector with specific needs through a dedicated subprogramt
  • - Encourage community-led local development through the LEADER approach. LEADER transversal skills to improve competitiveness, quality of life and diversification of the rural economy and combating poverty and social exclusion
